The game is still going strong following the latest update (version 5.00) released in August 2022, which introduced a new wall combo mechanic and tons of balance changes to go along with it. Regardless, Tekken 7 stands as one of the best selling entries into the franchise with over 9 million sales, and only 2 million of those sales coming in 2021 alone. Of course, this has raised everyone’s hopes for the long-awaited Tekken x Street Fighter, but it seems this is the closest we’re getting to that dream. This release features a long-awaited crossover in the form of Street Fighter’s own raging demon: Akuma. Tekken 7 is a 3D fighting game that puts a high emphasis on character movement and character knowledge, emphasizing the unique characteristics of each fighter (and surprise, 2 bears). Originally released in February 2015, Tekken 7 is the latest installment in the highly acclaimed Tekken franchise by Bandai Namco.
